The Dorie Miller Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to develop leadership skills that empower individuals to design and implement programs that address the needs of the American homeless veteran.

The foundation will provide residential housing facilities for homeless veterans and their families to give them stability while helping them to become self-sufficient. Temporary facilities will also be offered for veterans who choose to maintain their independent lifestyles.

Within these facilities we will also provide social services, mental health services, vocational training, employment referrals, and permanent employment opportunities. We will also provide rental assistance services and temporary aid to needy service families.

The Dorie Miller Memorial foundation is where veterans will be assisted with employment services programs, a homeless veterans re-integration program, small business education, home ownership workshops, military issues workshops, compensation information, upgrading discharges and referral for legal advocacy as well as the outreach of our Community Affairs Office at the Veteran Administration and our network linkage to various resources for veterans.

* The Goals and Ideals of the Doris MIller Memorial Foundation are to assist every homeless American veteran in and around Los Angeles, California or any city or town in the United States to secure a decent place to live and sleep with pride, honor, dignity and peace. They deserve the above for their dedicated service, that our country might be free.

* Assist and protect all disabled veterans over 60 years of age from mortgage or foreclosures that desire to live out their lives in their own homes.

* Assist all disabled veterans, wives or husbands that desire to care for their spouses at home after they are diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

* That every serviceman or woman receives the correct military medals he or she has earned and deserves whether dead or alive (Descendants can request if deceased).

* Build a memorial and museum in Waco, Texas, where the old Miller Home once stood on 1213 Southey Avenue.

* Petition the President, Congress and the Navy to waive the time limitations specified by law and award the Medal of Honor to Doris "Dorie" Miller for his heroic actions during the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 by the Japanese Empire.
